Description
Our day begins with the Acropolis that has been overlooking the city for more than 2500 years.You will see also a complex of buildings including Parthenon(the main temple dedicated to the Godess Athena),Erechtheio(dedicated to the Mythical King Erechtheus),Propylaia(the main entrance to the monument),Temple of Athena Nike(known as the Temple of Wingless Victory),Theater of Dionysus,Odeon Theater of Herodus Atticus.
After the Acropolis hill we will visit the Temple of Olympian Zeus and also see the Handrian's Arch(the Temple was started under Peisistratos in 530 B.C. but was not completed until 129 A.D under Roman emperor Hadrian).
Next stop at the Panathenian Stadium(stands on the site of the ancient stadium built in 330 B.C.and is the place where the Olympic Games revived in1896).
We will drive by the Constitution Square in front of the Parliament to see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the Changing of the Guards.
We will continue our tour driving along Panepistimiou Avenue and view the the Academy of Science, the First University of Athens and the National Library.
Next is the the Lycabettus Hill the highest point in town.After this view you will remember Athens for ever!
If you feel hungry our driver is going to take you to a local restaurant for an unforgettable lunch!
And now it is time to drive along the Athenian Riviera passing some of the most splendid southern suburbs of Athens like Glyfada,Voula and Vouliagmeni with wonderful beaches and have a stop at the Lake Vouliagmeni(well known for it's mineral and therapeutic water).
In about an hour we will arrive at Cape Sounion and the imposing Temple of the God of the sea,Poseidon.The site is surrounded by sea on three sides and offers spectacular view to the Saronic Gulf and Aegean Sea.
After your experience we drive back to Athens.

- A professional English speaking driver or escort with deep knowledge in history and culture of Greece will guide you till you enter archaeological sites and museums.Tour drivers are not licensed to accompany you inside the archaeological sites and museums.If you'd like to have a licensed by the state tour guide to escort you inside the sites and museums, we can arrange it for you with an additional cost. Licensed by the state tour guides are freelance and it is subject of availability on bookings day!
People with Desabilities
- Due to uneven surfaces,certain sites are not recommended for persons with walking disabilities or using a wheelchair.Such sites are the Acropolis.Elevator available for wheelchairs,people with diminished abilities and any parent attending two or more infants on her/his own.The elevator is located about 350meters far from the main entrance of the archaeological site.Users of the elevator should contact in advance for details and terms (+30 210 3214172).The facility is not available during extreme weather conditions and strong winds.
Dress
- In religious and marmoreal sites shoulders and knees must be covered.
- In all cases,we recommend comfortable flat-solid walking shoes,sunglasses and sunscreen.
